About Ar. Anuja Marudgan
Founder & Principal Designer
Ar. Anuja Marudgan is driven by a passion for futuristic, urban-centric designs that merge seamlessly with their environment. Straight out of college, she founded Ikigai Studio in 2020. Despite the studio's young age, Anuja has remarkably completed over 50 projects within the first two years of its establishment.
Accessibility is a core focus in Anuja’s projects, ensuring that her designs are aesthetically pleasing and inclusive for all users. This commitment to accessibility, combined with her innovative use of technology and sustainability, sets her apart in the architectural landscape.
Anuja’s projects have been featured in prominent architectural journals, showcasing her ability to blend creativity with functionality. One of her standout projects, a 5000-square-foot residential space, exemplifies her meticulous approach to design. Her work has been widely published, including features in Good Homes digital magazines, and her renowned residential project, 'The Enchanted Forest,' has graced the pages of leading international magazines such as Architectural Digest (AD) and Dwell.
Anuja's work has not gone unnoticed. She was honoured with the prestigious Top 50 Under 40 iGen Award in 2024, recognizing her as one of the leading young architects shaping the industry's future.
Beyond accolades and publications, Anuja’s approach to architecture is rooted in the belief that design holds immense power and relevance. She sees architecture as an intricate blend of disciplines—merging design, art, culture, engineering, and aesthetics. Her designs embody emotions, philosophy, and experiences, creating spaces that transcend the ordinary.
